The most impressive and moving body of work I have seen in years. You have inspired me to abandon my abstract aspirations to return to figurative study Ewan. I wish you all the best. Brian McFie
Thank you very much for the generous words, Brian. I’m very struck by the ambition, complexity and playful discovery in your abstracts. I imagine if you apply the same values to the figurative work you’ll kick ass! Wishing you all the best too.
Thanks for such a prompt and encouraging reply Ewan. When I saw your work on the Sky Arts program, I thought it would be a good idea to make contact. I studied at GSA between ’79-’83 and went on to be a Rock musician (in keeping with traditions set by John Lennon and Keith Richards, the differing level of success notwithstanding of course) but I always maintained my interest in Art. I have recently returned to life drawing and I feel that it cannot be coincidence that I came across your work. It sets an extremely high bar for me and probably means another year or so of intense learning before I attempt, with any confidence, to pitch anything into the marketplace. I hope you do well from your considerable talent. From what I’ve seen, it would be an unmitigated injustice were it otherwise.
